At the Academy we are able to offer some fantastic image retouching packages through our team of graphic designers based in Norwich. Using the latest CS5 software on our studio iMacs our designers are able to make any changes to your images that you require - whether you are a photographer looking for someone to retouch your images, or a model wishing to make your images better. Our designers also work with other photographic studio's and professional photographers around the UK to help them with their workload of image editing. Unlike many airbrushed images you will see on the web, our designers will ensure that your image remains natural looking at all times - by using specialist techniques which do not over blur the images.

As a model or photographer you want only the very best images in your portfolio book, and displayed on online profiles. In fact it is better to display a small quantity of retouched professional images, than hundreds of un-retouched images! You only want to display your best work.

Every model in every magazine feature, commercial, advertising campaign and so on would have been airbrushed to perfection - and sometimes end up looking nothing like themselves in the final result! At the Academy we do not believe in editing your images so they do not look like you - for example we will not make you several dress sizes smaller, or your bust several sizes bigger (one size is acceptable though!) as it is not advisable for a model to send images to agencies and magazines which do not look like her, and often featuring her being much skinnier than she really is!

However in the industry it is acceptable (and usually expected) that your images have been retouched as it gives a realistic idea of how you will look after hair and make up, the shoot, and the editing by the design team.
   
 
 

What can be done to an image...
 
Retouching of the image itself:
  • Contrasting and colour correction of the image
  • Applying different filters for different effects
  • Making images black and white
  • Adding text, logo's and watermarks to your images
  • Removal of unwanted objects in the image
  • Re-alignment of the image, and cropping
Retouching of the model in the image...
  • Make a model slightly skinnier - banish a round belly or remove love handles (with the emphasis on slightly - you still want to look like you!)
  • Make a model curvier - adding curves to create a waist or hips, or making the bust slightly bigger
  • Darken or lighten hair to add depth or highlights
  • Darken eyebrows and eyelashes - to give the perfect false lash effect!
  • Tattoo removal - remove any tattoos from your body
  • Removal of spots, scars, stretchmarks and moles on the face and body
  • Whiten teeth - remove stains and give you the perfect glowing smile!
  • Brighten eyes - by brightening the whites of the eyes and enhancing the eye colour
  • Remove wrinkles or frown lines on the face, as well as under eye bags and lines
  • Give the model a smooth, glowing complexion worthy of a magazine front cover

For slight retouches i.e just three of the items listed above, images can be retouched at a special rate of two images for just £10! For a full airbrush where every aspect of the image and model is improved, we charge just £10 per image! If you wish to have several images retouched we can also offer you a discounted rate.

If you are a model wishing to have images re-touched which have not been taken by us, then please ensure you get the photographers permission before sending us the images to be retouched because of copyright.
