I have been a photographer since I was 7 so for a long time! I have 35 years experience of portrait, fashion and glamour photography and have taken pictures in the UK, Eurpoe, America and Australasia.
Looking For:
I concentrate on people, cars and buildings. I like to develop a rapport with my subject by working with a model several times to create our best work and jointly develop a look and style.
I enjoy working with beginners where the basis is to provide practice and experience of posing, taking direction and providing creative input, understanding how a photographer uses light and most importantly learning how to relax, which I believe is key to creating outstanding images. The pictures from this seem to be liked but this is not the key function, practice is.
When working with beginners where the object is to develop their skills, portfolios or one or more ‘looks’ I am happy to work on a “time for” basis. When shooting for my portfolio, I mostly pay my models but will provide images when required (surprisingly frequently).
If you only want paid work this is not a problem, please let me know your rates, if you want pictures let me know your thoughts.
I always agree the scope of the shoot beforehand with reference to your levels and will review some of my previous work with you as a guide to what we are trying to achieve.
I am one of those photographers who plan a shoot beforehand. Please believe that although I do this I am not boring and often deviate from this as we get used to working with each other.
I am happy for you to be accompanied to the shoot although I prefer a friend (of either sex) to a boyfriend as I have found that the model relaxes sooner in this environment and as I have written before "a relaxed model is key to great images."
About Me:
I mostly work for my main enjoyment, always trying to create some outstanding images for my portfolio and to hang on the walls of my home. I have sometimes sold my pictures although this is not my main aim. I strive to create images that I and others ‘look at twice’.
Outside photography I am interested in classic cars, travelling, heritage and ‘having a good time!’
Lastly, but probably very important to you, I have often been told I am ‘fun’ and reassuring to work with.
