Model of the year successNovember saw the grand finals for our several Model of the Year competitions which we run - the adult females, males, teens and our new Little Miss competition as well! All of the four competitions were run over the same day on the 20th November at Project nightclub, and were once again covered by the BBC. All of the finalists and winners received a lot of publicity, with live interviews and appearances on the BBC, front pages of their local press, and radio appearances as well. Our Model of the Year winner Sam is seen here in a full page feature about her win in The Sun national newspaper! Samantha Crossman is a mother of two from Middlesborough, and was closely followed by Alice Atreides from Peterborough in second place, and Stephanie Moore from Norwich in third place. Samantha will now be jetting off to Egypt with Kerri this January to shoot her portfolio and official calendar on the Red Sea Rivera and take home thousands of pounds worth of prizes as well! The Teen Model of the Year competition was very close, and Helen MacGregor from Cheshire walked away as the 2011 winner, with Jessica Watts from Walsall in second place, and Marina Maytum from Norwich in third place. Remone Notman an engineer aged 20 from Huddersfield walked away as the Male Model of the Year 2011 winner, Ricky Rajpal, 33 years old from Watford in Hertfordshire won second place, and Liam Spring, 21 years old from Norwich took third place. Kerri returns from round the world modelling tripKerri left the Academy in the capable hands of her assistants Kathleen and Charley as she jetsetted round the world on various modelling trips this Autumn and winter. Kerri's first stop was Thailand where she was shooting for various magazines including Maxim and Babemag. She spent the week shooting with celebrity photographer Alan Strutt in the trip organised by Celebrity Publicity who are selling images of Kerri around the world. Kerri then headed off to Fiji at the end of September for the World Supermodel Finals where she won the place to represent England. Kerri made it to the final 12 for the world final out of over 150 countries shortlisted for the competition. Kerri spent a week on the Amunuca resort and spa taking part in various activities and shoots, before the grand final at the end of September where Kerri came 4th place, and also won the Public Choice Award and the Miss Congeniality for the adult models as well. Kerri was sponsored by Ladbrokes and GMS Law as well as various other companies for the trip, and you can view more details on her personal model website here. In just the few short days between returning from Thailand there was no time to sleep off the jet lag with a Model Tutorial Day and the Grid Girl calendar shoot the day before flying to Fiji! We are very proud that Kerri managed to not just fit all of that in for the girls but also bring international titles back to the Academy as well! |
