The Academy ran their first ever Top Swimwear Model grand final on the 10th July 2011 to help all aspiring swimwear models gain some exposure in the industry and win some fantastic prizes as well! Created by Kerri this contest is aimed at models who wish to become swimsuit models, and even travel the world with it as Kerri has done on various swimwear campaigns - including her being the face of Starwear US swimwear based in Florida! ''Modelling swimwear is always my favourite job by far in the modelling industry, as it usually means you will be jetting off somewhere exotic! Swimwear campaigns and photoshoots have taken me to America, Egypt, The Maldives, Mexico, Sri Lanka, Marbella and various other locations over the last 8 years I have been modelling! I have even been lucky enough to appear on TV as a swimwear model for various shows including shows for T4 with Steve Jones, and appearances on the hit comedies 'Mitchell and Webb' and 'The Kevin Bishop Show!' There is nothing I love more than shopping for bikini's and then getting paid to sunbath on a tropical beach between shoots! Jetsetting around the world is every models dream and I hope I can help one new model enjoy the career I have been so lucky to have had.'' Kerri Parker, worldwide swimwear model and founder of the Academy The competition is open to any models regardless of experience, and to new faces as well who reside in the UK. Anyone over the age of 17 can enter although those under 18 will require parental permission to attend the portfolio shoot abroad. The Top Swimwear Model 2011 winner will enjoy lots of fantastic prizes - including an all expenses paid trip to Egypt to shoot her portfolio on the Red Sea in a package worth over £1000as well as the front cover of the Academy's official 'Bikini Babes' 2012 calendar! Stay tuned for details about our 2012 competition and make sure you check out the winners below! |

The judges had great difficulty choosing between the finalists who made the top 12 to determine their winners. They all got to watch the 12 finalists in one last round to help them decide who they wanted to take the crown and calendar shoot in Egypt! It was very close with only one point between first and second place, and the Top Swimwear Model 2011 title was given to our winner Corrine Lee from Lincolnshire. Second place was awarded to Mica Anema from Dereham in Norfolk, and third place went to Casey Holt from Nottingham. Corrine will now fly to Egypt to shoot her official calendar on the Red Sea Riveria later this year, in an all expenses paid trip. Corrine has had several press features since her win and will also be featured on the Maxim Magazine website as well. All the girls did extremely well and once again we would like to congratulate everyone who took part as well as our winners pictured here, and enormous thanks to our sponsors as well and everyone who supported the 2011 contest. |
