Rules and Regulations
All contestants must abide by the following rules at all times, and entry to the national final is subject to these rules and regulations.
1.Eligibility
1.1 Each contestant must:
- Be aged 14 or over at the time of entry
- Hold a valid passport
- Be a member of the Academy or attend an Academy event such as a Model Tutorial Day.
1.2 Contestants must not:
- Have any serious criminal convictions
- Have been involved in any activities that will bring The Kerri Parker Academy into disrespute
- Be involved bringing any negative publicity to The Kerri Parker Academy
2. Behaviour
2.1 Contestants must be respectful to other members of the academy, the academy employees, and owner at all times. Failure to do so will result in disqualification from the competition.
2.2 Contestants are required to conduct themselves in a responsible manner in any competition heats, photo shoots and at the Model of the Year grand final.
2.3 All contestants must be present for the rehearsals, interviews, and photo calls on the day of the grand final.
3. Publicity arrangements
3.1 Contestants acknowledge that all rights in the Kerri Parker Academy Model of the Year competition lie with the organiser Kerri Parker and her associates.
3.2 Contestants agree that the academy will have the right to negotiate publicity deals in relation to the competition.
3.3 Contestants agree that they will all have the opportunity to be represented by the Academy and agency in a non-exclusive modelling contract.
3.4 The winner of the Model of the Year contest shall make herself available for any publicity events and press calls on behalf of the academy, and be in attendance at the next live final.
3.5 Contestants agree to be photographed and filmed at the Model of the Year final, with The Kerri Parker Academy owning all copyright. Each contestant must grant the academy full authority to use images and footage as they wish, to bring publicity to the event.
3.6 The Model of the Year winner will be free to enter other competitions throughout her reign. The winner can however let the academy and agency negotiate deals and work on her behalf if she wishes to do so.
4. General
4.1 The Kerri Parker Academy may amend these rules and regulations at any time.
4.2 Dates of the Model of the Year final are subject to change if unforeseen circumstances arise.
4.3 The Kerri Parker Academy will not be held responsible for any injury to contestants, or theft or damage of contestants property whilst at the Model of the Year live final. The organisers will make contestants aware of all emergency exits whilst at the final, and provide a secure place for contestants to change and leave their belongings.
4.4 All monthly heats are determined by public vote or a judges decision and are not in any way influenced by the academy owners and employers.
4.5 The judges decision over The Model of the Year winner is final, all scores will be available to the contestants backstage after the winner is announced.
4.6 If for any reason the Model of the Year winner brings the academy into disrepute, the academy have the right to remove them as the winner, and offer the title and duties to the runner up.
4.7 Prizes cannot be exchanged and may change at any time without notice. The Academy does not supply a cash alternative to prizes.
4.8 Contestants can be married or have children.
4.9 Contestants will have assistance from the academy in the finding of sponsors to cover travel and accommodation costs if they need to do so.
4.10 Contestants do not need to pay an entry fee for the Model of the Year final or any other competition round.
4.11 If a contestant cannot attend the final or becomes disqualified and public voting is not available at that time, then a suitable replacement will be chosen from entrants by the academy team.
4.12 Contestants cannot talk about their involvement in the contest before or after the event to press or magazines without informing the academy, as we need to send out our press releases so they have the relevant information to go with your story. However they can inform the press about the final so they can contact us on your behalf.
5.0 Contestants dress code:
5.1 In the club wear round, contestants outfits can consist of dresses, skirts and tops, hot pants or jeans.
5.2 The evening wear round is a formal round where the contestant must wear a cocktail dress, or gown below the knee in length. Mini dresses are not permitted. Tiaras are permitted in the evening wear round.
5.3 The swimwear round can consist of bikini or one piece swimsuit. Thongs are permitted for the very brave! Sarongs are permitted for the not so brave!
