| Welcome to the Model of the Year competition, Kerri set up this competition when the Academy opened in 2008 to help new models get started out in the industry. Since then the contest has grown on a massive scale, with the 2009 contest being seen by millions on the BBC as their featured story on the BBC England website! Kerri has had lots of interviews and appearances with the BBC and other media regarding the contest, as being one of the best in the UK for not charging girls hundreds of pounds to enter like most pageants! There are various ways to win a place in the grand final, through online heats and live heats at the Model Tutorial Days. Talitha Minnis aged 17 from Lowestoft walked away as our 2009 Model of the Year winner, taking home thousands of pounds worth of prizes! There were over £13,000 worth of prizes up for grabs in the 2009 final which we have now beaten in our 2010 competition with over £15,000 worth of prizes! Talitha was also seen on the BBC by millions and appeared in live radio interviews with Kerri after her win. These include a £1000 website, and £1000 worth of salon vouchers for celebrity hairstylist Max Giammello's salon in Norwich, as well as a luxury weeks holiday and photoshoot on the Red Sea Riviera in Egypt! The 2010 competition will be held in November, once again in Norwich. Girls aged 14-30 can enter the pageant, and we do not have limitations if you are married or have children! The competition has been split into The Model of the Year final, to be held at Mercy nightclub on Wednesday 3rd November for contestants over the age of 18, and the Teen Model of the Year final for those under (date and venue TBA). |
