| Welcome to the Model of the Year competition, Kerri set up this competition when the Academy opened in 2008 to help new models get started out in the industry. Since then the contest has grown on a massive scale, with the 2009 contest and winner Talitha Minnis being seen by millions on the BBC as their featured story on the BBC England website! Kerri has had lots of interviews and appearances with the BBC and other media regarding the contest, as being one of the only pageants in the UK for not charging girls hundreds of pounds to enter like many do. There are various ways to win a place in the grand final each year, through online heats and live heats at the Model Tutorial Days. Our 2011 competition will be announced shortly, and feature a brand new website solely dedicated to the competition! This year the competition was bigger than ever and so was split into a two day event, with The Model of the Year held on Friday 26th November, and the Teen Model of the Year final was held on Saturday 27th November. Each grand final had over £10,000 worth of prizes for its winner, runner up, and all finalists. These included a £1000 website, and £1000 worth of salon vouchers for celebrity hairstylist Max Giammello's salon in Norwich, as well as a luxury weeks holiday and photoshoot on the Red Sea Riviera in Egypt! |

| 2010 was the first year of the seperate Teen Model of the Year competition on Saturday 27th November and it was a great success! Despite the Norfolk area being under inches of snow, 17 out of the 20 grand finalists still managed to get to the competition, travelling from all over the UK! The finalists took part in a 2011 fashion calendar shoot in the day, and were trained by the Catwalk Professor who taught them how to walk and pose on stage! The evening consisted of a party dress round, followed by a casual round, a sportswear round where we saw some fantastic costumes, and finally an evening wear round. The finalists were then interviewed on stage by Channel 5 TV presenter Rob Lamarr! Judges on the evening included the Catwalk Professor, Mrs World and Mrs Commonwealth Winner Hannah McCraig, Matthew Schader from Thundersport GB racing series, professional model Natalie Money, and Talitha Minnis - Model of the Year 2009 winner! The judges had a tough decision as all the girls were equally amazing on stage, and at one point they were arguing over the winner as it was so close! After much deliberation they chose Darci Boamah aged 15 from Wells Next to the Sea as their winner, closely followed by Hannah Davis aged 15 from County Durham, and in third place Jade Pask aged 17 from Norwich. Other award winners included Jenny Andrews as Most Promising Newcomer, Maddison Taylor aged just 13 who won Miss Charity and also the Best Catwalk (as awarded by the Catwalk Professor!)
