Model of the Year

MOTY 2009

The Kerri Parker Academy held various heats this year, throughout the UK and online, to find 30 finalists to go to the grand final. Over 1000 girls entered, and the final 30 all won a place to attend the grand final held on Friday 20th November at Sprowston Manor in Norwich.

The finalists competed in 3 rounds - clubwear, swimwear, and evening wear, and were also interviewed on stage by Kerri. The evening was presented by Channel 5 TV presenter Rob Lamarr, and also featured a special appearance by singer Ria Richie as well!

Sponsors kindly donated a record breaking £13,000 worth of prizes to the 2009 competition, including portfolio prizes, £1000 worth of vouchers for the Max Giamello salon, a professional website, clothing and beauty prizes and much more!

Judges included celebrity hair stylist Max Giamello, Tim Lindon presenter of Beach Radio, and Laura manager of Karma Kafe where the Academy holds all of its events! They picked Talitha Minnis, aged 17 from Lowestoft as The Model of the Year 2009 winner, with Emma Watson in second place, and Danielle Sheehan in third.

In conjunction with UK Beauties four girls were also chosen to attend an International Final in China in 2010 on an all expenses paid trip!

The Model of the Year 2009 final has been heavily publicised by the media, with various newspaper and radio features about the event. The BBC even put Kerri's story about The Model of the Year contest on it's homepage of the BBC England website, for millions of people to see!

A big thank you to everyone involved in the 2009 competition, and a big congratulations to all our finalists, not just our winners and runners up! We look forward to holding the competition again in 2010.
